Idaho Rafting on the Salmon River

Confluences River Expeditions is eager to provide you with a world-class experience as we guide you down the Salmon River.  This mighty river’s big drops and long pools makes for a dreamy whitewater rafting adventure, an experience that appeals to all ages and ability levels.  You will find the river canyon laced with big sandy beaches, exciting rapids and fun swimming pools.  Warm days are followed by cool evenings, perfect for sleeping under a canopy of stars.

Join us in the Frank Church Wilderness, with its 2.4 million acres of preserved forests and pristine clear waters.   Known as The River of No Return, the Salmon River flows through the second deepest canyon in North America and  is rich in human and natural history.   There are great options for side trips, stops at historic ranches, and plenty of wildlife to observe.

Just finished an amazing trip with my kids and girlfriend.  From sitting in a kayak paddling deep in the whitewater, to lazing on the back of the big boat, we all could dial in the experience we were in the mood for. That, plus incredible hospitality and amazing food and wine.”

Thanks again for such a fantastic trip! I know we all had a blast thanks to you and your guides. I just got home and am wandering around looking for someone to start cooking dinner for me and provide entertainment. It’s so quiet…

Territory Acknowledgement

Confluences River Expeditions operates river trips within traditional homelands of Indigenous peoples. By acknowledging these communities we hope to honor their lives, descendants, and legacies. We also hope to raise awareness about their history and culture. Recognizing that many people may never have learned about who was here before us, we hope this conversation opens the door to continuing education regarding Indigenous homelands.

CRE river trips travel through the Salmon River Canyon. We acknowledge the traditional territories of the Lemhi-Shoshone (Agai dika), Nez Perce (Nimiipuu) and various bands of the Shoshone-Bannock along the Salmon River.

Our hope is to accurately recognize Indigenous communities who have and continue to occupy the lands in which we operate. If any of this information is incorrect please contact us so we can make the correct changes.
