Cowboy Cookie Recipe
Delicious Cowboy Cookie Recipe Step-by-Step
Silver Cloud serves these mouth-watering cookies on its Main Salmon River whitewater rafting trips. We make tons of dough at the beginning of the season and roll them into logs to freeze. Then, before each trip, we bake a batch for our first day lunch. Our guests love them and so do we. We get asked for our cowboy cookie recipe regularly and it is not one that we give out lightly. Read on to see the secret ingredient that makes these wonderful cookies a favorite year after year.
Cowboy Cookie Recipe
Mix together:
2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups oatmeal (put in blender or food processor and turn into powder)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
Cream together in separate bowl:
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
Add:
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Mix together all of the above.
Add:
1 1/2 cups nuts, chopped
12 oz bag chocolate chips
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes on greased cookie sheet (make golf ball sized balls) about 2 inches apart. Do not overbake! I do not let them brown.
Try not to eat them all in one sitting…
